In Dublin’s Liberties, the area we call home, there were once more than 40 breweries. At the time, beer was ale, pubs were ale houses and there were lots of varieties of both. But the fight for our freedom, civil war and the bleedin’ economy put paid to the diversity of our gargle and Dublin’s breweries were all but wiped out.
It’s only now that the brave or the foolish are returning to the fold. Well call us what you will, we will call for ale.
And in the pursuit of your drinking pleasure, we are proud to call ourselves true libertines.
